Energy: Climate Culprit to Atmosphere Hero (a part of our Climate Science, Climate Action series)

The use of fossil fuels to power our 21st century civilization has taken a big toll on people and the environment. Join the Nature Center for a presentation on the future of energy systems. Renewable sources of energy, from the sun and wind, are the cornerstone of the sustainable future that Westchester County and New York State are calling for. In partnership with the Lower Hudson Sierra Group. Refreshments at 7:00pm, program starts at 7:30pm. Free!

Project FeederWatch
Sunday and Monday Feb 5th & 6th AND Feb 12th & 13th

Whether you’re a beginner birder or a budding ornithologist, we’ve got you covered in this new program for nature and bird lovers. Join a Nature Center naturalist for morning bird watching as we gather data for Project FeederWatch and brush up on local bird identification. Free! For ages 7+.

Teaching Trails
Saturday and Sunday Feb 4th & 5th AND Feb 11th & 12th

Join us on our community path for environmental education! This is a guided trail experience through our forest and wetland. Our specially-trained “Trail Ninja” volunteers provide information on trees, plants, wildlife, and seasonal changes. The focus of each walk varies. An ideal way to get acquainted with our trail system. Program runs approximately 45 minutes. Free! All ages.

Young Explorer’s Storytime (Ages 3 to 5)
Mondays, February 6th & 13th
1:00pm – 2:00pm
Join us for a unique storytime experience as children, with a parent or caregiver, are immersed in a nature-themed story with opportunities to engage with our animals and enjoy the Nature Center’s fields and forests. Plan for a portion of each class to be spent outdoors. This is a drop-in program, no pre-registration is required. Fee per class: Members $9/child & caregiver, Non-members $12/child & caregiver.
